Ineke Derring-Do for Men

Dandies of contrasting stripes will want to reserve themselves some DERRING-DO. Like a handsome stranger who blows in the cafe door with the weather, the fragrance opens with a hard rain of fresh citrus, rain notes and cyclamen. Its heart throbs with masculine fougere accents and that most feminine of flowers, the magnolia. There's an electricity to this heart accord. It pulsates fougere-magnolia-fougere-magnolia with the contrast of a traffic signal. A woody skin scent accord provides some relief from the dramatic character of the opening and heart in notes of guaiac, cedar and musk. Though Derring-Do is a men's fragrance, it wears like a more successful version of Creed's Love in White, a fresh floral fragrance marketed for women.

It takes courage, elegance, and an olfactory logic to combine the traditionally masculine fougere with the creamy tart blooms of the magnolia. Genres boggle.

Okay, young lady, that is IT. NO MORE writing about these until I get my samples!!! I am hoping they come today (fingers crossed.)

PS Did you get your package?

How complex- I'm having difficulty imagining this one.

Someone should take pity on Jenny and send her samples...

Unfortunately, I'm making Herculean attempts to be chaste [for awhile, at least!]regarding my perfume expenditure.

Thanks, Cait, for all of your lovely writing.

If your speaking voice resembles your writing, you must have the tones of a siren...[or a manatee- isn't that what they finally decided Ulysses and his men actually heard at sea?]

Dear Jenny,
Email me your address, my dear. This can be arranged.

Dear March,
Thank you so much! I did get your package. By now you should get your Ineke package, but if you don't let me know and I will hook you up. I am trying to guess which one you'll like. Hmmm. Still not sure because you have such Catholic tastes.

Dear Chaya,
Why, thank you. Sometimes I have been known to feel like a manatee but not so much in voice. Heheh.

Based on your notes, I think I will like them all!

I have my samples and have been enjoying them for the last few days. Thanks for letting us know about them. I've been carrying them around in my bag and trying them on at various times during the day and evening. The packaging is really nice too, great for carrying with you, the soft silvery pouch and the slide out little boxed samples in their colored tissues...

Got my samples. The presentation is beyond fantastic! I'm still testing, but I think I will have to get full bottles of at least two or possibly three in the very near future. Thanks for posting about these!

Dear March,
I hope so. Give a shout out when you get them to tell what you think.

Dear Jenny,
I can send you some samples. I heard from www.ineke.com that they will send the deluxe sample package international. Take a new look at the site.

Dear Lucy,
The grey bag was one of my favorite touches, along with the detail of the patterns on the little tiny matchbox container for the sample atomizers. Great stuff.

Cait Shortell said...

Dear Elle,
Which ones will you get full bottles of, do you think?

This sounds very intriguing! I can hardly wait to try it. Magnolia and fougere? I am SO there! Add in the cyclamen and I am done for....

Cait, you are truly a sweetness-

How kind to arrange samples for Jenny...

As for you, Ms. Jenny-

I'm a horrible softie where the Netherlands is concerned...
I have lifelong friends there, lived on a pig farm in Stevensweet 34 years ago, and almost married a boy from Groningen....'nough said!

Dikke kus-geliefde meisje.

Cait,
Chemical Bonding and After My Own Heart (can never resist lilacs and they're rendered so gorgeously in this one) are inevitable purchases and I'm still very seriously contemplating Balmy Days and Sundays, but that may wait till early spring.
